Everyone's talking about it - "green building" is becoming more common every day! With rising energy prices, energy conservation is at the top of the list. What does it really take to "go green" in the commercial building industry? How can we save energy and reduce our carbon footprint while maintaining reasonable costs for building maintenance, renovation or construction? How much do green technologies really cost and how much do they save? The Green ACTION Summit is designed to answer these questions and give you hands-on tools for reducing carbon emissions in your buildings. If you haven't attended a green building conference yet or are looking for real-world advice, consider what we offer. The Green ACTION Summit is designed as an educational, informative experience for people at all levels of the commercial building industry - building owners, contractors, developers, engineers, facilities managers and suppliers. Sessions will address the HOW and WHY of specific topics, such as water conservation and solar energy, while case studies will INSPIRE you and give you a STEP-by-STEP look at integrating green strategies into the projects you undertake. Check out the sessions and DON'T MISS this great one-day overview of green building for commercial projects! REGISTER TODAY!

Conference Greening Practices At The Green ACTION Summit , we want to minimize our impact on the environment. As a result, we plan to neutralize our carbon emissions through LiveNeutral, and we are encouraging conference participants to do the same. Calculate your carbon emissions and consider offseting the impact of attending the Summit at http://www.liveneutral.org/home. LiveNeutral is committed to providing individuals the opportunity to reduce the threat of climate change. The average American driver contributes 11,500 pounds (over 5 metric tons) of climate changing emissions each year. By neutralizing your transportation-caused carbon dioxide emissions through LiveNeutral, you will be supporting projects that are reducing climate-changing emissions. LiveNeutral purchases emissions credits through the Chicago Climate Exchange because of the demonstrated effectiveness of its members in reducing greenhouse gas emissions. In fact, CCX members are exceeding their emissions reduction targets. When LiveNeutral purchases your emissions credits, they are stimulating a consumer market and encouraging more entities to join emission reductions programs like the CCX.
The threat of global climate change can be reduced if greenhouse gas emissions are reduced globally, and we all pay our climate dues.

A message from the Owner: The Data Bridge is responsible for marketing The Disaster Preparedness Summit, a conference currently being held in cities across the nation and targeted to this same industry. The success of The Disaster Preparedness Summit inspired the idea of helping connect and educate people in the Green Building industry. As a previous contractor myself, I find the Green Building movement quite compelling. Taking care of the environment always seems to be the right thing to do. It is an interesting balance of ergonomics, common sense and the ability to test our creative abilities. Change is a good thing, and I think that our generation is embracing it. Applying what we have learned about the built environment over history and what we can apply now is moving our world in the right direction. It's about much more than the built environment, but it is just a simple change in the way we think. The freedom to be creative lets us take advantage of that change. -Kelly Olcott, Owner, The Data Bridge
