KeyNote Speaker Jerry Yudelson Jerry Yudelson is one of the country’s leading authorities on green development and marketing green buildings. He has been actively involved in the green building industry and in the green building movement since 1999. The author of five books and founder of Yudelson Associates, a green building consulting firm in Tucson, Arizona, he works with developers, design teams, and product manufacturers seeking to make their projects and products as green as possible. His work on design projects involves early-stage consultation, eco-charrette facilitation, and LEED expertise and coaching for design teams. He also works with development teams to create effective marketing programs for large-scale green projects, and with manufacturers and private-equity firms to provide due diligence on product marketing and investment opportunities. With speaking engagements all over the U.S., as well as in Canada, Germany and Australia, Jerry's speeches and workshops motivate people to understand the business case for building and developing green. In 2004, the Northwest Energy Efficiency Alliance named Jerry the "Green Building Advocate of the Year," and Sustainable Industries Journal named him one of the top twenty-five leaders of the green building industry in the Pacific Northwest. In 2006, the U.S. General Services Administration named him to its national roster of Peer Professionals who advise its Design Excellence program for major federal facilities. Jerry's latest book, released in 2008, is "The Green Building Revolution," introduces readers to the projects and people advancing the green building movement. It illustrates how and why we should design, build and operate high-performance, environmentally aware (primarily LEED-certified) buildings on conventional budgets. Green Building Incentives That Work: A Look at How Local Governments Are Incentivizing Green Development The NAIOP Research Foundation retained Yudelson Associates in the summer of 2007 to investigate local government incentive programs, specifically for green buildings.
